The project intention was to extend the life of the campus and its infrastructure while creating a bold iconic new look to the campus of existing buildings. The proposed design ties the various buildings together in a uniform identity that express innovation and sustainable development in line with the tenant’s vision and prominent position in the Sandton CBD.
This bold and practical intervention consists of a new steel structure that frames and shades the existing facades and roof while forming unifying element and the support framework for sun screening , planting and an extensive photo voltaic array, suspended over the existing building roofs providing renewable energy for the campus. In addition to the main exterior architectural intervention the project scope included considerable water saving and recycling interventions, indigenous landscape and energy saving electrical and mechanical equipment upgrades and monitoring. |
